Pork Share FAQs

  • Why choose a pork share?

A pork share is more than a freezer-stocking option — it’s a decision to bring home pork raised with intention, care, and a custom feeding program that sets it apart from commodity meat.

For families who care about what they’re feeding their household, it’s a meaningful way to choose better.

  • How much meat will I take home?

This is the finished, packaged meat you’ll put in your freezer:
    - Half Hog: around 60-90 lbs
    - Whole Hog: around 130–150 lbs

    Includes a variety of cuts.

  • Processing

Your processing fee is included in your price.

  • How does processing work?

    After your pig is ready:

        1.    It is taken to a local butcher

        2.    It is processed and cut, smoked (if applicable) and the lard rendered

        3.    The butcher processes, packages, and labels everything including canning your rendered lard in glass jars

       4.   Your order is either delivered straight to your door via farm delivery or you can arrange for a local farm pick up

Everything comes vacuum-sealed and clearly labeled for easy use.

  • What cuts will I get?

Your share includes a variety of cuts, such as:

        •    T-bone or     sirloin chops

        •    Roasts

        •    Ground pork

        •    Bacon

        •    Sausage

        •    Traditional nose-to-tail cuts

  • Do I need a lot of freezer space?

Not as much as most people think.

        •    A half hog fits in a standard freezer (about 4 cubic feet)

        •    A whole hog typically needs about 7–8 cubic feet

If you already have a chest freezer, you’re likely set.
